We are going on a tour to Switzerland in September 2025. Starts in Geneva and last stop is two nights in Luzern and flying out of Zurich. We were thinking to stay in Zurich for two nights also. But reading some of the topics about Zurich, most suggest to go to Luzern for day trips. Should we stay two more nights in Luzern, or go to Zurich and explore the city? Our flight is out of Zurich two days after our last tour day.

I'd stay in Lucerne, which is much more charming than Zurich. Have a great trip!

If staying longer in Luzern, any advice on how to transfer from Luzern to Zurich airport on departure date? Our flight out of Zurich is at 1:35pm.

The train will take you right from Luzern into the airport.
Check the SBB app or website for times.

There are direct, no change trains to the airport (flughafen). Punch in your date:
You'll need to leave Luzern by about 9:30

I really enjoyed Zurich and spent 2 nights there after 2 in Lucerne. It's especially good if you're looking for something else besides scenery, Zurich has tremendous history to tell. You need to transfer trains to get to the Zurich airport. It's reasonably easy.

No change is necessary. You can get from Luzern to Zurich airport in 1 hour and 9 - 12 minutes with zero changes.
The change at Zurich central station was temporary due to track work. It looks like that is complete. If you check SBB, you'll see all your options.
