What is the best way to get an invitation from a home stay? How do I find a homestay? Do you have any contacts in St Petersburg for May, 2012?

Not to hijack a thread, but let me add to this question for anyone responding.
Our son has hopes of semester abroad in St. Pete in Spring 2013. His visa issues would be handled by the organization running the study abroad program (CIEE), and they place the students with host families. This brings the possibility of our choosing to visit him during Easter week (my wife is a Philly school teacher). Which brings us the visa issue - how fast can we do it (i.e how far must we plan ahead), by invite from our son's host family, and so on. Thanks

I used a company called "White Nights" to book it for me: http://www.wnights.com/ I have the business card of the woman I stayed with at home (currently on a ski trip in the Alps)... send me a PM, and I'll send you her contact information when I get home.
