Spanish hill towns

My husbad and I are interested in going to the Spanish Hill towns in late December. We are interested in learning about the weather and if anyone has any particular suggestions for hotels that could accommodate two parents and one child. Any other advice greatly appreciated also. Thanks

Fourties to fifties, take a sweater. Look for hostals (note spelling) which are small, family-run hotels. You won't need to make reservations.

Hill towns - it's a big country, where? More importantly, why? How cold do you want it to be? Advice - on what? Once you have decided, there are are many websites which will assist for pensions, hostales, small hotels, etc. - like booking.com with testimonials from people who have certainly stayed at a premises. Input should give you output.

Not all hill towns but in mid April, we had freezing weather in Granada and Ronda (including snow), cool in Gibraltar, Tarifa, Cadiz and Jerez (probably 50-60), better in Seville (in 70's). It was unseasonably cold, we should have been able to count on better, but it shows how it can get really cold - bring layers that will work for a variety of conditions. Hopefully, the weather will be a little better when you're there.

A bit more information would help - if you want to go to the hill towns, perhaps you have some in mind. There are many - though i wouldn't consider Granada, Tarifa, Cadiz or Jerez to be hill towns, though Jerez would be closest. Late December will be colder than April - it is mid winter. April was colder this year than others, but nowhere near as cold as December. Parts of Andalucia will be warmer than most other parts of Europe at that time of the year. We have spent time in both Seville and Jerez over Xmas/New Year and the weather was quite mild - shirt, jumper and lightweight coat or jacket sufficed outside. If you were more specific with places I could perhaps help with accommodation suggestions. Have you considered apartments - these will give you more space and in winter, especially with a child, you may find yourself indoors more than warmer times of the year.

You can checkout the weather on this website http://www.weatherbase.com/. You didn't mention which region in Spain but I'm assuming Andalucia. Zenit Hotels is a chain throughout Spain offering 2,3 & 4 star hotels at reasonable prices... http://www.zenithoteles.com Choose the English site at the top right of the page by clicking on the Union flag. Another chain is Room-mate hotels... http://www.room-matehotels.com/ These hotels may not be in the smaller towns and villages but you could base in a larger town and do day trips.. Good luck...
