Spam Private Message

A couple of days ago I received a private message with the subject line "Representative" I also got the notification that 'You have 1 unread message."

When I tried to open it, I got a page saying "This page isn't working. HTTP error 422." The notification didn't go away.

I contacted the webmaster who said this was a spammer who was banned and that I should try to refresh the browser and the notification would go away.

I did and it hasn't. I tried contacting the webmaster again but no response.

So I throw it out to you. Any idea how to get rid of the "You have 1 unread message" since I can't technically open the message or delete it?

I've had an unread message from a member from last October that I've never been able to open, clicking on it just opens a blank page. She wasn't a scammer because we'd been engaging in a conversation. Consequently I've had the '1 unread message' ever since and cannot clear it.

It looks like there's a bug where the "unread message" notification isn't fully accounting for banned users. There were a few users who got this spam and I've manually removed these messages. Thanks for reporting this!

I had the exact same message a couple of days ago....except I could see the body. It was a solicitation which I reported. You didn't miss anything:)

Thanks for the warning! I don't remember ever hearing about Spam messages happening on the forum. Hopefully you've been able to get rid of the unread message flag.
