Spain or Greece 2nd half November

So we have travel credits from COVID that we need to use before end of the year. So my wife suggested we head to Europe. The best time for us with family is about a 10 day trip ending the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

We are thinking Greece or Spain because they are further south. Maybe Italy as well, but we have been to Italy a couple times.
Although Greece and Spain have some great beach locations, we arent worried about going to the beach.

Any suggestions?

With only 10 days I would head to Spain. Easier to get around, more choices, less expensive, more to see. I always associate Greece with the beach.

November will be no time for the beach in either country.

It really depends on where you want to go and your interests. You are the one going on holiday. If it were me I choose Greece.

Its about history and culture. My wife and I are both 57 so not about action either. Strolling, observing the people, seeing history and art, good food, little drink, etc. etc. We do like to travel light, which makes 2nd half of November more difficult. Will have to bring jeans and sweatshirts/coats.

We also dont need to see everything this one time.

Either could be great. Spain does tend to maximize your time because of the shorter flights, and Andalucia without searing heat is always a great idea. Or Madrid and Barcelona if you are more of a city person. Easy train travel is a plus.
But it could also be a great time to see Athens without the huge crowds. You could head north to Thessaloniki after Athens, or you could drive around the Peloponnese. Both would pair nicely with Athens. If you have a good flight option, I would not rule out Greece. I would not bother with any islands with only ten days and at that time of year--the mainland is full of appeal.

Gotta say I would not turn down a trip to Sicily at that time of year either!

Spain for better weather (Andalucia), more sights and better food.
