We will be in Spain the month of May and will be heading down to Tangier. Just wondering if we will need vaccines when we go. Was talking with some folks about our trip and they said we should get vaccinated. We are following one of Ricks over nighters with a guide he recommends. We fly out May 3rd.
No vaccine.
Thank you Ed good to know
We didn't even need vaccines when we went to China years ago. There is no need in Spain, either.
Kathy, you can always check http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/morocco and talk with your primary physican to reassure yourself.
No vaccines needed. I actually took the ferry down to Tangier when I was in Southern Spain a few years back. Tangier was a very crowded, dirty, touristy city. There are a lot of scammers there, and people want tips for everything. Just be ready for the culture shock. If you want to buy something; bargain hard. Demand a ridiculously low price, and when they want more start walking out the store. Don't worry about currency exchange in Tangier; they'll take any currency. Spain was absolutely beautiful; I've been there a few times.
Your local public health office will always have a list of recommended or required vaccinations for various countries. While there may not be a required vaccination, there may be some recommended vaccinations. You then need to decide what level of risk you are willing to assume.
