Southwest launching flights to Europe with Icelandair

Did a quick search and didn't see this so...

Southwest Officially Launching Connections to Europe

[snip]

Starting in February(2025), you’ll be able to book a flight on Southwest that gets you to Europe, thanks to a partnership with IcelandAir. The first flight will be from Baltimore, but others are promised to follow, starting with Nashville and Denver.

Great news for us and probably other cities that do not currently have non-stop flights to Europe.

Yes, I didnt mean to imply it would be SWA nonstop to Europe, but it significantly increases the access to international flights since SWA is the dominant airline in many US markets without current international flights. So many people in major cities have been able to use Icelandair as their convenient carrier to Europe that those of us without that access (on single tickets) were jealous. Life is different when you have to connect.

IcelandAir already operates out of Baltimore, so I’m not sure how this changes anything (at least for those who fly from BWI all the time). Seems easier to book directly with IcelandAir.

jamiesalbo, doesn't change access for you, but for those of us who currently have to book separate tickets to use IcelandAir, its a great advantage.
