Soooooo happy! Passport came today.

I sent my passport in for renewal the day before Thanksgiving. I expedited it and paid for faster shipping etc. I told myself to be patient but it’s a bad feeling mailing it off, at least for me. But, OMG I got it this afternoon, two weeks to the day. So pleased.

What!! That seems extraordinarily quick since there was a holiday in there. Wow. Relief, I’m sure.

Wow, two weeks turnaround during the holiday season - that's incredibly fast! Enjoy planning your next adventure :)

My daughter had exactly the same passport renewal experience. Expedited renewal, over the Thanksgiving holiday, 2 weeks turn around. I just renewed mine a few weeks before her, non-expedited, and I felt so nervous sending my old one off. Not having a passport, for even a few weeks, just felt wrong. : )

The State Department must be under-promising and over-delivering as of late (what a change of pace!). My expedited passport took about three weeks in October which I considered a miracle. You got a nice holiday gift :)

I’m still pleased and amazed at the fast turnaround. Sad to lose my former number and all my old stamps acquired through the years but I have 3 overseas trips scheduled in ‘24 to start getting new ones. This one has a QR code sticker on the back, sort of generic info when you scan it. It says you can keep it or remove it as you want.

Last time we renewed them, we requested the old passports be returned and they were in a different mailing.

The old passport is always mailed back separately, and in my experience it shows up quite a bit later.

my old passport was returned by snail mail several weeks after I got my new one.

Nope it was only the new passport, I’m assuming the old one and the card will come later. I did pay for a passport card as well. I’ll post again when they show up.

I had virtually the same experience.

Sent mine off via Priority Mail to Philadelphia on 11/22 just before Thanksgiving ,from San Francisco Bay Area
Got mine today , 1 day earlier than the Postal Express tracking promised. Fantastic service.
Seems like the backlog is over for now.

A reminder for all...Now I have to update my passport data on my airline sites so I don't have issues for my next trip.

Old passport always comes separately, so no surprise there.

We applied for our new passports in late September. We didn't need to expedite them. It took about 6 weeks. Then about 2-3 weeks later we received our old passports. So be patient. I am sure you will receive your old passports in a few weeks.

I applied for renewal on the 9th of November and receievd my new passport on the 24th. The old passport was delivered on the 28th. Standard processing/non-expedited. Veterans Day and Thanksgiving holidays.

Through Irving, TX for residents of MN, and new passport mailed out of Seattle.

2nd (the last?) passport renewal.

Update: I received old passport and passport card in two different envelopes yesterday. That was less than a week after the new passport came. So less than 3 weeks for everything. Sweet.

My wife sent in her passport Nov.21. Didn't expedite it.
Just the regular cost. We received it today.
I guess the logjam is over.

I'm another happy traveler.

Mailed application Nov. 13
Application delivered Nov. 14
Application accepted by Passport Office Nov. 17
Passport received Dec. 13

Nothing was expedited. I sent the application via Priority Mail, and the passport was returned to me the same way.
