Sony Reader Help

Can Rick's Paris, London & Scotland guides be down loaded to the Sony reader? Can the audio tours be down loaded? I have purchased the books but would like to save space and just take the Sony reader. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thanks in Advance!

I have owned the Kindle and currently own 2 Nooks. I originally thought they would be great for travel guides. What I have come to believe is that their real use is for recreational reading or airplane reading. For the purposes of a guidebook, you tend to be flipping pages, which an electronic reader does not do well. It may work out okay for the museum guides, but still...

I agree that e-readers are better for just reading books. If you need to flip back and forth, it's a problem. With the Nook, you can "bookmark" pages. So if you plan ahead, you can read the book and bookmark places, sights you want to see- that might work. Perhaps it would be best if you found the Sony website and see if they have a FAQ site so you can answer your question(s), or call a Sony store to ask a sales person about downloading the audio tours. As far as downloading an audio tour - I'd imagine that's better suited to an MP3 player, like an ipod. Personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking around with the reader in my hands....an ipod in my pocket, that's more my style. Is your question about an audio tour? OR the books?

Rick's travel guides are available from the Sony Reader Store http://ebookstore.sony.com/ . I found the London book, but not Great Britain. Agree with the others that e-readers are not good for travel guides. I regretted reading SuperFreakonomics on my Sony and being unable to flip back a couple of pages or to footnotes. A travel guide would be even worse. Audio tours can be downloaded for free from iTunes. I needed my son's help to get the tours onto my ipod.

I agree that the Sony reader is better for just reading books. There are a number of Rick Steves books available from the Sony website including London 2010. I downloaded a guide book to test it but found that it is NOT as easy to use as an actual book. With a book I usually mark pages with tabs and hilite items of interest. Mine is the pocket reader so it is even smaller than most.
