This list of European travel destinations for 2016 was just released by Lonely Planet. I've been to their No. 1 location, the Pelopponese, and it is indeed wonderful.
I can agree on the Peloponnese, Ken! And as well the Dordogne. It took me years to get there, and I finally took my parents a few years ago, in October, it was truly magical (and kind of misty, like in the photograph they use). I would love to go sometime in the spring.
Kim,
Of the places on the list, I've also been to the Dordogne, Venice (of course) and also parts of Dalmatia. Each one has their charms, and all of them are incredible.
I'm currently reading an article on The Mani in a travel magazine, and it brought back some nice memories including a wonderful dinner of Pastitsio and Greek Salad, which I enjoyed in Kardamyli.
