Coming from France and Switzerland solo (23F) and deciding where to travel next in late May going into June.
I am deciding between:
1. Greece and spending time on a couple Cycladic islands for a few weeks
2. Central Europe via rail (Brussels, Bravarian region, Prague, Krakow,... not too sure on stops so would love suggestions here if recommended!)
I've also heard wonderful things about Spain and Portugal for solo travel... Any feedback or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
If you speak about safety for solo travellers it is less a country thing, but very regional and also local.
Bavaria you can consider as a safe region. Heads up: from mid of June 2024 there will be European Soccer Championships in Germany. More tourist will increase number of criminal people, especially pickpockets.
Recommendation: read security information of your own country's ministry for foreign affairs about other countries.
Besides safety option 2 promisses more cultural manifold and less stress from high temperatures. 2024 starts very warm already in Europe. Same issue for Spain (partly drought emergency already) and Portugal.
Even tip May 17-20 is Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.
