I am planning a 58 day vacation to Europe. Must I advise Social Security that I will be out of the USA for two months. I am 63 and collecting my monthly benefit.
I don't know why, especially if you have direct deposit.
If you are a US citizen collecting Social Security there is no problem.
From the Social Security website:
"If you are a U.S. citizen, you
may receive your Social Security
payments outside the United States
as long as you are eligible."
If you are not a US citizen there are conditions. Here is a link to one of the SSA publications.

There may be other parameters for someone who is receiving benefits from programs other than retirement.
No, you do not. I regularly carry along relatives in their 60's through their 90's, all with Social Security, overseas for long trips. You could even retire and live overseas and it would not affect your social security benefit as that was earned by your work history. You aren't old enough to enroll in Medicare yet but when you are, keep in mind that Medicare benefits cannot be used overseas and you will want to purchase a short term medical plan when traveling out of the country. I know a lot of American expatriates who live in Europe full time and who have access to their social security since it is received by direct deposit through Ally Bank which is an online bank.
Terri Lynn makes an point important for some: as a general rule (there are a couple of exceptions), Medicare doesn't cover you in Europe. Could be a big $ issue for some travelers.
Following up on the Medicare posts above, when you become Medicare eligible look at supplemental Medigap insurance -- if you plan to travel, some supplement plans include short-term overseas coverage for emergency medical expenses.
Many of those on social security with an Advantage plan (supplement) have health coverage on a reimbursement basis when traveling out of the U.S. You need to contract your insurance carrier to verify your coverage.
If someone just had Medicare Parts A&B would have to purchase travel insurance (medical coverage) even if they were just running up to Canada or down to Mexico.
