soap leaves?

Somewhere, I read about a company that makes shampoo, conditioner, and even lotion in leaf form. The user just adds water and gets the product. These leaves are supposed to be packaged in flat plastic containers. Does anyone know where to find them? An internet search has not helped. Plus, if anyone has used them, what are your thoughts? TIA

Perhaps try searching on "petals" instead of "leaves." I mostly see them referred to as soap petals. I have seen them on etsy.com, here is one listing http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_10&listing_id=13078191

I haven't actually tried them, but think they are cute. To get away from the liquid rules I used Lush (www.lush.com) solid shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap. I cut them up into sizes I would need for my length of travel and put them in a tin. Everything worked great and now I'm in love with all of Lush's products :)

Travelon makes them. I found them at my local Bed, Bath & Beyond but you can find them online at many places but one place that seem to have them all is:

PackingLight.net

I've used the soap, shaving soap, and laundry ones. I've yet to try the shampoo, conditioner and body soap. They each come in a different plastic case--about the size of large matchbook--with 50 sheets per pack.

I like the regular soap ones and the shaving ones. I wasn't thrilled with the laundry ones because they didn't seem to make much soap in the sink and I wasn't thrilled with the smell--very girly.

Travelon also has a powdered toothpaste. It's terrible.

I got mine at Packinglight.net (just like Frank). We got the shaving one and they took up no room in the pack.

I found mine at both TravelSmith and my local AAA store. I found the hand soap to be a great way to carry soap (I don't like hand sanitizers) and I also use the laundry leaves. I haven't noticed a "girly" smell. They don't make much suds, but it beats carrying laundry soap or finding it in a store in a foreign country.

Also sold at REI. I picked up some last month - jury is still out on whether or not it will get a permanent home in my bag.

Hi Carol, I'm really glad you asked this question, 'cos I had never thought of using soap petals (or leaves) before; what a great idea!

Bought some soap leaves at World Market a couple of months ago.

I have read Lani's review at Travelite. Doesn't sound too promising. However, perhaps I can find some at my local World Market, and give them a try before I need to pack for that next trip.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and help.
