Small Town Accommodations in Serbia

I've posted this same question on Trip Advisor and would like to pick the brains of those who use this forum as well.

What's the likelihood of finding decent, clean small hotels, B&Bs or private rooms for rent while traveling through the small towns of the Serbian countryside? Or, will I be better off sticking to what larger towns and cities there are as much as I can?

I'll be bicycling and will need a place to stay every 40-55 miles or so. My likely route will take me through Cacak, Uzice, Nova Varos, Prijepolje and Brod en route to Dubrovnik, or possibly to Bielo Polje, Niksic, etc. in Montenegro, then over to Dubrovnik.

I appreciate any feedback or recommendations.

Sorry, we don't have any travel experience in Serbia. Do you have a guidebook for Serbia and what does it say about that? Most towns that you mentioned do seem large enough to have adequate services, for instance if you use Google Maps to search for "rooms near" or "hotels near" those destinations. Unless that method throws up some red flags, I'd feel pretty confident to search as you go.

Laura, I'm reaching out to several sources to see what I can glean. A Serbia guidebook is now on my shopping list!

Does Rick have plans to visit and publish on Serbia and Montenegro?
