I'm not Skype savy, but wonder about it. My daughter's in Denmark and has a Sype account. I'm in the US and don't have Skype. I wonder if she could call my land line or my cell phone from her Skype in Denmark? If so, anyone knows the approximate rates? I tried to contact Skype, but in vain.
Thanks
With Skype your daughter can call your landline/mobile phone via her computer. The rate is 2.3 cents a minute to a landline. 24.9 cents to a mobile number: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/payg-rates/
If you are asking here I assume you have a computer and Internet access. Skype is free between two computers and has video. It is free to download Skype and easy to learn.
Yes Skype is free from computer to computer. Even if you do not have a webcam(era) you can always use Skype with voice only. We just agree on a convenient time for both ends and leave the Skype loaded ready for a call.
Thank you all for the helpful information, I'll definitely give it a try.
Rima, In your situation, Skype is a wonderful tool / skill to use. If your computer isn't set up with a camera, you can buy a clip on for under $20.00.
