we travel from skopje mid-october and other than flying i.e., to Belgrade, wonder if anyone has figured out land travel opinions, preferably rail. thanks. eg

Where are you going? Coaches can be a good option in the Balkan countries. Unfortunately the Thessaloniki-Skopje-Belgrade train was suspended during the pandemic and remains suspended.
Simeonidis Tours runs a coach line between Skopje and Thessaloniki a few days per week. https://simeonidistours.gr/en/ellada-pgdm/
There are also coaches from Skopje to Sofia, and probably to several other cities.
