Skip the Line tours of the Vatican

I want to purchase one of the "skip the line" tours of the Vatican with Through Eternity. This particular tour does not include admission to the Vatican. How does that work? Where/when would I get the admission tickets before the tour? Does the tour give you the chance to do that before the tour?

I'm confused. The tour of the Vatican doesn't include admission to the Vatican? "Does the tour give you the chance to do that before the tour?" Huh? How can a "skip the line" tour require you to buy admission before the tour? Wouldn't you be standing in line to do that? Perhaps you should clarify with the tour group.

I believe you are paying for the Vatican museum tour to skip the line. The actual Vatican church is FREE to enter - at least it was when we toured 2 years ago with Angel Tours. We met our tour group on a corner outside the Vatican, they walked us to the museum entrance and we passed by everyone waiting in line to get in. The guide went to the desk and bought tickets for the group and we went in ahead of everyone waiting outside to get in. it was extremely crowded in the museum and in the Sistine Chapel...you don't really have time to enjoy the art...expect that, they will take you through the museum first, and the church might be part of your tour or you can enter on your own and just walk around.

The tour specifically says "The price of does not include the entrance fee." That is what confused me.

I purchased advance tickets to the Vatican Museum on their website. This allowed you to use a special entrance at the museum. We then toured the museum and then used the passage way to the Vatican from the sistine chapel that rick talks about in his book which let us skip the line to the vatican. The vatican museum was extremely crowded, if you really want to do a tour I would make sure it was a small tour or will be hard to stay with your group.
