The main GraffitiWall has a section called Travel Partners Wanted, for people who want to share travel -- check it out.

Some tour companies will try to find a "partner" for you if you book with them. In 2005, I traveled with Uniworld to China. I said that I would be interested in having a roommate, but since they were unable to find one for me I didn't have to pay the single supplement. Look at different tour companies and see what they offer.

Evelyn, I stumbled on a travel club called Thelma and Louise recently. I haven't joined, but it appears it provides a source for matching up single travelers.

the travel partners wanted link is predominately younger folks. Maybe Rick's webmaster could start a link specifically for retired aged folks. And for everyone out there, be careful with this feature. I am sure there are some weirdos out there. The next time I plan to travel alone, I plan to go on a tour for that very reason. Companionship and safety.

Try www.travelchums.com. You can create a preference profile and do searches by just about any combination of demographics.
