Silk Neck Wallets

I've been thinking of switching to a silk neck wallet for everyday stuff, and keeping my rarely needed passports, credit cards, etc, in my EC Hidden Pocket.

I can't decide between the Eagle Creek Silk Neck Wallet and the RS Silk neck Wallet (which is on sale until Sunday).

Anyone have experiences and/or opinion on either, or know of a better one?

I have Rick Steves' neck wallet. It has a plastic insert that keeps documents dry. It is very light weight, thin and I like it.

I also have the RS & love the feel of the fabric. It's very supple.

I have a Lewis N Clark neck stash that I got at my local AAA office for around $12 or so and like it a lot. It has no zippers, 3 compartments, and easily holds cash, cards, passport. It is lightweight and comfortable and unobtrusive.

I'm constantly searching for the ideal bag, neck wallet, purse, debit/creedit & cash holder. Ron makes a very valid point about the size of pockets to hold cash and cards. Many of them are just not big enough and it is awkward to access them. The other problem is what do you do with all the change you get? The coins are heavy and they seem to accumulate quickly when you have 1 & 2 euro coins.
I have used the RS one along with the RS waist pouch. They are comfortable.

But the best thing I've found (for me) is a LeSport Sac 3 zippered purse/make-up bag (nylon, 7x 4 3/4) which is small & flexible enough to fit in my deep pants pocket or jacket or vest pocket, easy access, zippers long enough to hold bills, credit cards, and change and keep them all separate. They come in solid colors (& prints). I've worn out one & I have one in my purse for daily use and another in my travel stuff. You can find them at Macy's in the handbags and accessories and online at LeSport Sac which carries a separate men's line of items.

On a recent domestic trip, I tried the Wallet Minder.

One end has a holder for your wallet and the other end loops around your belt. The connector is steel cable which is not easily cut.

The down side is that it's very visible and feels bulky.. The steel cable is not easily hidden and goes from your belt inside your pocket. Unless you're wearing a untucked shirt, or a jacket, everyone can see the cable and in which pocket you keep your wallet.

I realize most of the neck pouches are big, does anyone know of one that is smaller--small enough to carry cash and credit cards...and occassionally my passport?

The zippers and snaps on all of my neck wallets were not detected by the scanners that we walk through in airports. (Your experience at airport scanners might be different).
