FYI if you're looking.
I ordered two colors and sizes of the longer women's version, which is labeled Gemma style on the manufacturer's tag. I like the coral best, and now the black has been further reduced. The sizing is generous. Will be sending the extras back.
They are rather boxy, but do seem like they will be warm. I can wear a packable down jacket under these. The two inside zipper pockets are nice. The hood has a bill and the zipper goes all the way up the neck, so the hood will stay in place.
They do have a "crinkly" sound, but I can get used to that.
I believe the Viev brand has are discontinued. They are clearly labeled gore-Tex.
Most of my suitcase is packed with travel clothes from Sierra Trading. They carry many of the same brands as REI, but usually discontinued items.
