Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of hiring a car to drive from Sibiu Romania to Subotica in Serbia?
Is Uber the best way to go, or is it possible to hire a private cat?

I don't know what you mean by "hire a private car", but I expect you can find a taxi driver in Sibiu willing to make that drive. The round trip will take the driver all day, so I imagine it would be best to plan a reasonably early departure time in the morning. Your hotel or the Sibiu tourist office might have a suggestion, but I had no trouble arranging my own inter-city trips myself in other Baljan countries.
The third-party company, daytrip.com, connects travelers needing transportation with drivers. They have to make money somehow, so I think working through them might cost more, but that's just speculation. A few people on the forum have used Daytrip, and they all have been satisfied as far as I have seen.
Timisoara and Szeged are both interesting cities if you want to break the trip.
