Short 3 night, 2 day trip, San Sebastián or Cinque Terre?

We will be in Venice, Florence and Paris in July. We would like to tack on a short trip either before Venice or after Paris, and I'm trying to decide which destination would be easiest, and of course, not too expensive for 2 travelers. My initial searches included:

Flying in to Pisa (from Seattle) and doing Cinque Terre (stay in Pisa or in one of the villages?) OR

Taking the train from Paris to Hendaye, and on to San Sebastián.

Any suggestions?

The train to San Sebastian will take nearly 7 hours. And how would you get home from there? I think that's too far to go for just two days. Save northern Spain for a time when you have more time. There are additional places in the Basque Country that are worthwhile.

Since current reports indicate that the Cinque Terre towns are swamped with day-trippers, I think you need to stay in one of them so you can appreciate the early morning and evening hours.

Of the two i would select CT and stay in monterosso al mare.
How will u reach Venice? Fly or train either way a day is lost in travel.
Have u thought about spending those xtra days nr Venice? PAdua, Verona are easily reached by train from Venice.they are wonderful 1 day visits imo.

Thank you - I've heard about the "hordes" of day trippers on the trains. So Thinking about flying to Pisa, train to cinque terre, stay 2 days, then back to Pisa and fly or train to Venice. Will be flying out of Paris for return to Seattle. Any thoughts?

You will find more options ....
Fly Seattle to Venice
Train Venice to Cinque Terre
Fly Genoa/Pisa to Paris
Fly Paris to Seattle

Delta/KLM/Air France seems your best bet for flights to/from Seattle.
