I like to use a bath bar that is body soap and shampoo in one bar. Aveda makes such a bar but it is very expensive but very good. Right now I travel with a bar of soap and a shampoo bar made by Lush but would like it in one bar. Any suggestions??
I'd pop for the Aveda one or do without.
A lot of soaps get the job done. It sounds really hippyish, but Dr. Bronner's bar soaps work well as my regular shampoo and soap and don't leave sticky soap residue. I also like how they don't leave a thick, perfumey smell.
Glycerin soaps generally make terrible shampoo. Burt's Bees makes a shampoo bar that is astonishingly sticky for something that's designed for the purpose. If you like the Aveda bar, take it!
I've used Dr. Bronner's also -- my husband said he needed a conditioner, so I found some conditioner sheets like those tiny soap sheets, and he said that did the trick for him.
Basin also has the similar item.
My hair is falling out, and what's left of it I keep short and I use any ordinary bar soap.
I always take the round bar of Lush shampoo with me to Europe (it comes in it's own little round metal dish), and use it for shampooing, showering and laundry duties - it's great for all three and lasts for a long time.
John,
I have used and gifted this combo from a local (MD) company called Fernwood.

I have had great luck using their product on the road. Like most soaps, it does get squishy after being in a soap dish closed up if you are traveling frequently....
Good luck.
