The Michael C. Carlos Museum is presenting Antichità, Teatro, Magnificenza: Renaissance and Baroque Images of Rome. It's an exciting temporary exhibition that includes maps, views, and books on Rome from the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries. The museum is on the campus of Emory University. For our next meeting, it's all things Italian. We'll meet first for pizza and second to see the exhibit. If you want to meet for travel talk and a light lunch, we'll meet at Slice and Pint in Emory Village - formerly Everybody's Pizza (1593 North Decatur Road Atlanta, GA 30307) at 1:30. The owner is reserving a table for us. Around 2:30 we'll go to the museum located across the street on the Emory Campus. You're welcome to come just for travel talk, just for the museum tour, or both! If you only plan to come to the museum, meet the group on the 3rd floor just outside the exhibit around 2:30-2:45. The tour will last 45-50 minutes but everyone is welcome to stay longer. More info about the exhibit is at: http://www.carlos.emory.edu/content/renaissance-and-baroque-images-rome Let me know if you'll attend so I can schedule an additional docent if needed - the museum fee will be covered. Hope to see you there!
Four confirmed so far!
Sharon,
Count me in. Went to Italy this summer on RS tour so would love to share our experience. Thanks for setting this up. Gail
That's great Gail! It will be nice to see you again! Glad that you'll be there to share your recent travel experiences!
We're confirmed at Slice and Pint!
Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.
Just a note about parking on Saturday: Option 1: Park in the lot right behind Slice and Pint. Option 2: Park in either the Fishburne or Oxford Road parking deck on the Emory campus and walk across the street to the restaurant. That way, your car will be nearby after the museum visit. Parking is free on the week-end. See you all Saturday!
Rain in Atlanta today - a good afternoon for pizza, beer, and a museum visit!
