Sept 21. International Day of Gratitude

I know by now it is hard for some to feel grateful after cancelled travel and restricted 'everything', but gratitude is know to bring a level of happiness. We are very fortunate to be able to travel at all, and there are most likely ways to tick the gratitude box every day. Maybe we can take a few minutes to make a list of things to be grateful for, pin it to the fridge and review it every once in a while. Perhaps also use this day to plan to help others in need, whether this weekend, Thanksgiving or Christmas....if those celebrations are also looking like a bust. Giving to others can also lead to happiness.

As we celebrate International Day of Gratitude I think of this quote: "Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie

Edited to add- I am grateful to boogieing to Earth Wind & Fire- Thanks Emma!

I am just going to bump this up a day as some of you seem to need a bit more cheer in your lives......self inflicted penance for not traveling needs some tunes....

September 21st was my 35th wedding anniversary. We should be in Europe. Obviously didn’t happen. Plan B was Hawaii. Didn’t happen. Were we disappointed? Of course we were, but hopefully next year we’ll have another opportunity. What I am grateful for is my wonderful husband and the life we have together. I appreciate all of the trips we’ve gone on and the memories we’ve made together. I’ll limit my appreciation to those things because this is a travel forum. We are all fortunate to have been able to travel when times were good. While so many people are suffering from illness and financial insecurity I am just trying help where I can. So many people need it.
