is it best to stay in the
academia area or st marks. want people watching, but not nightclubs. Need a room for 3 in the $200-300 pr nite. max. Not interested in Grand canel but more quaint ,near the water taxi so we dont wast time .
getting over whelmed but every sites says do not miss Venice.

Water taxis are very expensive, I believe. Do you mean the vaporetto?
