Sending luggage home to USA from Rome

We are taking a transatlantic cruise that ends in Rome; we are continuing on to Paris and would like to send our suitcase home that contains all of our cruise clothes. Need assistance in knowing how to do this. Thanks

There are several Mail Boxes Etc stores in Rome. These are owned by UPS. Just check the UPS website for specific locations. There are several more expensive premium luggage shippers that will pick your luggage up & ship it home, such as Luggage Free, First Luggage and Luggage Forward. I've looked at these but have never yet used them. www.luggageforward.com www.luggagefree.com www.firstluggage.com

I really appreciate your response. I feel so much better knowing there are some UPS options. Someone else has suggested FED EX as an alternative also.
Thanks.

I can fully understand you not wanting to carry around a bunch of clothes you no longer need on your trip. Just be aware that is going to be expensive, especially the UPS and FedEx options, a couple of months ago I was shipping a 2 lb box to Germany and they wanted around $140.00 for it, I used the postal service which still cost $40.00. Last summer I shipped 13 lbs from Pamplona Spain via the postal service that cost around $70.00. I suggest weighing how much you plan on shipping, then going to their websites and entering the info to see how much it will cost.

And please look up previous threads discussing the likelihood of seeing you package again if you ship it with the official Italian postal service.

In case you would like to try doing it carry-on, here's my carry-on pack list: http://www.polyvore.com/mens_travel_pack_list/set?id=1440268 Assuming you are going in summer, you can pack lighter than this - loose one sweater, go with some golf polos or short sleeve rather than all long sleeve. Don't loose the rain shell, if only to use as a windbreaker. For a cruise, I still carry on only. The biggest extra is my suit coat. I add a black suit and one white no-iron dress shirt (take away one pants and one shirt) and wear them on the plane. Make sure your walking shoes are black and simple so they can pass as formal. I pack two ties, black and red, (monotone is more formal, black, silver, gold or red) and add a matching pocket square. My wife does it all in a carry-on too. She adds formal but still gets it into one carry-on. Last time she packed two cocktail length polyester black dresses (go with one and add a scarf or costume jewelry to give it more "looks") and a pair of black pumps (I'd go with a simple sandal in black material that can also be worn as a casual shoe). We packed more on our first cruise but realized it was unnecessary. Our "lite" formal attire is still more dressed up than half the people on the ship. A swimsuit is always on my pack list, you don't need more than one. Other attire is essentially my normal travel clothes, khaki pants and a button-up or polo shirt works for all nights except formals. Women can wear almost anything. It's all done with an eye toward regular laundry rather than packing an outfit per day.

great ideas. I'm going to pack light; costume jewelry and scarves don't take up much room.
