For next summer, we may be looking to try a different country besides Switzerland. One thing we loved in Lisbon, Madrid, and Seville, among others were the Rick Steves city walks he outlines in his books. What city “tours” in Rick’s guidebooks did you love?
I have done his walks in Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Bratislava and Reykjavik. All good!
I've done parts of ones in London and Paris with my own additions.
For myself I also made up a walk linking Roman sites in Paris after stumbling across a few websites with some information on them. IF you have a particular interest you might look at something like that. It started with a mention in a Corey Frye walk of a piece of a Roman wall that is on display in the stairwell of a parking garage near the Jardin du Luxembourg and went from there.
In case you are unaware, the walks are also available in audio format from the RS Audio Europe app. We've done several.
I always wonder if the locals spot Americans by noticing us walking around with our little blue and yellow Rick Steve's books.
Rome, Barcelona, Colmar, and Strasbourg come to mind. All very good.
