Seeking answers to Passport renewal/GOES linking

I got this email from CBP this morning in response to my inquiry

Thank you for contacting the CBP Traveler Communications Center.

We apologize for the difficulty you have experienced updating your passport in your Trusted Traveler Program account. We are aware that many travelers are having difficulty with passport updates and are working to resolve the issue. We anticipate that this issue will be resolved in the next 2-3 weeks. Please try again to update your passport in that time frame, and reply directly to this message if you continue to have difficulty.

If you continue to see an error message after this time frame, you will need to visit an Enrollment Center located in a public airport or location to update your Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) account. You will not be able to schedule an appointment through your TTP account for this issue. Please contact an Enrollment Center first, in order to inquire about the current in-person visit procedure.

Contact information can be found here:

I had the same problem last month but luckily I leave near O'Hare
and just drove over one morning and went to the Enrollment Center
and it was very busy. I explained to the desk clerk and he took my
documents and said to have a seat and 10 minutes later I was out of
there and all was fixed-seems they know they have a problem and are
working to correct it.

Any updates on this issue? I have the same problem, have held off renewing global entry until it is resolved.

I went into the airport to customs and border control and dealt with it there. The Agent told me that they want to see people in person. This worked for me since I don't live that far from a major airport. Once at the airport it was less than 10 minutes to get it done.

You can't make this stuff up. Brilliant...have they ever heard of the pandemic?

I live nowhere near an airport with an enrollment center. I did when I first got Global Entry, but no longer.

I am not sure I think Global Entry is even worth the hassle anymore. I can get the TSA pre check for less hassle and cost, and for reentry to the US from abroad, there is a free phone app program you submit upon landing that accomplishes the same thing as GE (Mobile Passport).

It took the system about one month to recognize my new passport.
