I see in some pictures that the leaves change colors. Does anyone know what time they start changing and what countries they change in? I'll be in Netherlands, Germany, Austria in Late September and Italy, Switzerland, and France in Early October.

Just like here, it changes a little each year. We were at Neuschwanstein on October 16th and saw some nice colors. Before that we visited relatives near Dusseldorf but everything was still green.

My family and I were in Southern Germany, Austria and Northern Italy at the exact same time you noted. The trees had not started any serious color changes. The weather was cool, maybe down to 50,s some evenings and when in the mountains cool but not cold. The trees get colorful the same weeks they do in the midwest, 3-4 th week of October. I can only imagine the beauty. In higher elivations there are minimal trees. We did October fest, Salsburg and then Northern Italy. My son lives in Italy...we'll go back soon, Have fun....
