Schengen Certificate For Medications

Does anyone know the process for obtaining a Schengen Certificate for medications. I can locate a Dutch form which asks for a BIG Registration number and a Stamp. Unable to get someone to answer the phone at the CAK. Is there a separate form for US Physicians? Is the Stamp requesting a notary? Appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

Yes. Seeking advice from someone with experience going through the process of obtaining Schengen Certificate for Medications in the USA and sending it to the CAK? Specifically to bring medications into Netherlands? I have the official link, have called the CAK during business hours (of course, dutch answering service), and have called the consulate (no specific answers). The form I have requires a specific BIG Registration Number and a Stamp. Unclear if there is a better form specific to USA? If the stamp means a notarized form? The general information is not clear. Thank you for anyone who can assist with clarity of details.

Each of the 27 countries in the Schengen area has its own regulations concerning medication, which ones are authorized, which ones are not.

The general rule is that for certain medications (psychotropics, morphines, etc.) the quantity transported must be limited to that necessary for personal use for the duration of the stay and to be able to present a medical prescription to justify the use of these medications.

My wife takes a many prescriptions--including 3 that are controlled substances in the U.S. And we've been traveling to Europe for 40+ years.

As long as you have prescriptions in the original bottles, you'll never be questioned. Last thing in the world that any EU Customs officer wants is to get bogged down in a bunch of pills they have no idea what they are.

You can also get your pharmacist to print a set of labels (on one page) of the current prescriptions.
