Hello!
I am only just starting to research but we want to take the train from Paris to Venice - not the night train as we want to see things. I am wondering about suggestions for the most scenic route and also if you were to pick one overnight stop in Provence/S of France what people might recommend. We also may consider not stopping overnight but still want a scenic route.
Thank you!
Did the reverse of your trip two weeks ago. We chose Venice to Milan to Zurich & high-speed to Paris. Route thru Alps is amazing. Spent a night in Milan to see The Last Supper, LaScala & Galleria. Worth the time if only to see Milan's Central Station.
Hi!
That's funny and good to hear because we just decided to take the route you took - except backwards, well, not literally - and do S of France when we have more time. Thanks!
The Swiss rail site sbb.ch or rail.ch for English) offers a great price for advance purchase on tickets between Milan and Zürich---30 CHF instead of 92 CHF.
I'd make my overnight stop in Luzern, a short hop from Zürich, instead of Milan. It's a beautiful lakeside town with mountain views; great for strolling.
That does sound really lovely and thanks for the tip on train tickets. Much appreciated!
