We will be travelling from Cinque Terra to Interlaken. Usually we want to take the most direct route but in this case we are interested in a scenic route if possible even if it takes a little longer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Denise, the best way to get to Interlaken is CT/Genova/Milan/Spiez/Interlaken. This route is quite scenic. If you want another, albeit longer and more expensive, journey, you go CT/Genova/Milan/Lugano (where you pick up the William Tell Express)/Luzern (where you pick up the Golden Pass scenic train route)/Interlaken.
You didn't mention if you're going by train or driving. Please clarify.
Denise, any route of travel from the Cinque Terre in ITALY to Interlaken in SWITZERLAND will be scenic. If you will travel in trains : I recommend ride in the Express train from Monterosso (in the Cinque Terre) to Milan. (other trains are slow at and near Genova).
