SAS closing the Seattle/SeaTac Route

Just read that SAS is closing it's SeaTac-CPH run. http://politiken.dk/newsinenglish/article647837.ece and http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/business/2009/02/12/sas_quitting_seattle_copenhagen_route_af

Sadly, we just booked our flights on them a couple days ago for May. I hope we'll be ok. For anyone else flying SAS from SeaTac, I think travel/flight insurance has become a no brainer now... :(

I just called Orbitz, and SAS is closed for the day. Any suggestions on how to deal with this with them? I really don't want this black cloud of cancellation hanging over our whole trip.

From what I have read, they are continuing flights through September and according to the Seattle Times are adding another daily non-stop flight from Seattle beginning in May, so you should be safe through this summer. Sorry to see Seattle losing flights.

Thanks, Leslie. That gives me a little heart.

Sad to see- this used to be our family's favorite route to Europe. : ( However, when I looked into them on our last trip, I found them to be excessively excessive, and I also know they are having financial problems.

Thanks Cate. Would you say it's a nice flight? I've always heard good things about it. (I just hope they don't cancel!).

This was in newsletter SAS email on 2/10/09

"How will SAS transatlantic network be affected?
Our Seattle to Copenhagen route (SK938/937) will regrettably cease to operate during the Winter 2009/10 program. The timing will be communicated when a final date has been set. We will continue to offer smooth connections from both Seattle and US West Coast via our gateways in Chicago, Newark and Washington DC."

Chris, yes we liked flying with them at the time! The customer service was good, as was the food.
