Salzburg sound of music tours

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with Sound of Music tours in salzburg. We are a small group of 5 HS age girl scouts and 4 moms. We like to sing and have fun and see the sites from the movie and hear some interesting information.

The SOM tours are schmaltzy but fun. If you're a big fan of the movie, you'll enjoy it. If you're not you'll wonder why the others in your group dragged you along. We had a great time. I don't remember the tour co but RS has recommendations in his Germany/Austria/Switzerland and Best of Europe books

I really enjoyed the Bob's SOM tour. However, they use small vans rather than a large bus, so your group might make up the entire tour group. They do play the music in the van and encourage you to sing along if you want.

I've been on the Panorama tour. Bob's and Panorama are essentially the same. I know loads of people who have been on one or the other and both can be booked with confidence that they're fine.

I really enjoyed the Bob's tour. I believe that the difference is the van vs. bus. I saw a lot of buses for Panorama, but maybe I just missed their vans. I would contact Bob's and see if you can tour just for your group. The Bob's tour that I went on started at around 8 AM and showed us some sights in town, and then headed out to see the yellow wall and the Gazebo, alpine pastures that were similar to where Maria and the children sang Do, a deer, the church from the wedding, stop for a snack, a stop to try out the luge track, and then back to town to the Mirabell Palace around 1 PM. thanks for all the help. We arrive salzburg on a sat nite at midnight and stay for 4 nites. I have booked bob's tour of SOM and city sites for Sunday afternoon. I think this will give our group, time to sleep in and then a nice overview of the area. We are a group of 9 so maybe the tour will just be us and we won't have as much waiting as on a bigger bus and group. The girls also want to ride bikes in salzburg so maybe we will also do maria's bike tour or some other biking adventure. any suggestions? then, tues nite we have tickets at the marionette theater to see Sound Of music (we love it). Any other suggestions for salzburg are appreciated.
thanks

The castle tour was quite good. Sometimes there are concerts up at the castle that aren't too expensive. Also, the church service in the Cathedral had a great music! I had friends that toured the salt mines and they enjoyed it. Pam

I second the salt mines and would add Mozart's house, but you didn't ask what else there is to do so we're probably not helping, unless you have some free time

We have 4 nites and 3 days in salzburg so we do have some extra time and I am happy to here suggestions. We have scheduled Bob's tour for Sunday afternoon. I understand there is a church with great music at a 10:00 mass on Sunday morning, not sure where. We have tickets tuesday nite at the marionette theater. the girls also want to ride bikes somewhere in salzburg. Seems that sometime back someone mentioned a SOM bicycle tour.

Also, we may need to have a laundry day in salzburg. It will be half way thru our trip and our longest stay over.

In addition to the Salt Mine tours (that usually include a stop in Burchesgarten), there are tours up to Hitler's "Eagles Nest". It is an amazing structure atop a very steep moutain. If you want a bit of history, I'd suggest that.
