Sagrada Familia Barcelona, Spain

Are long pants required to enter the Sagrada Familia? We women are planning on wearing pants below the knee however, the men often wear bermuda shorts which reach the knee. Thank you, Marilynn

Thank you for the information. We are using the hop on hop off bus(blue route) that day and Sagrada Familia is our first stop. I purchased tickets for the entry and elevators on line. We are going to Parc Guell and then on the red route to Montjuic and the waterfront. Did you take the cable car from the bay across the water to Montjuic? On Thursday we are doing the Old City area with a walking tour through www.runnerbeantours.com. and the Rambles and La Boqueria. My husband and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary with three days in Barcelona and then a 12 day cruise with my sister and her husband on the Disney Magic.

The Sageada Familia is one of the most amazing churches I have ever visited, most European churches tend to be rather dark inside but the SF is like being surrounded by light and color as you stand facing the alter. Take some time to just sit and quietly experience the ambiance the architect has created. Also, as you walk down the spiral staircases from the roof be careful because they are narrow.

When we walked into the Sagrada Familia we looked at the architecture inside and my first comment was "this guy was definitely certifiable". It is so strikingly beautiful, you can't stop looking at everything. The elevator up to the top of one of the towers is also a treat. Great views. For Parc Guell, if you are not on a Ho/Ho bus, don't take the metro. It doesn't really get close and it's up some steep hills. Instead, take the No 24 bus to the Parc Guell stop and walk right into the east side of the park. We asked the bus driver to please announce the Parc Guell stop. Here's a picture of the bus map. http://gyazo.com/a73feace71bc3ce56eef2a47811feaa4
