Safe economical hotel in Prague??

An acquaintance recently stayed at and recommended U Zlatecho Stroma (hotel) on Karlova St. I went to booking.com (for the first time) and booked a room for my daughter and I. We will be going to a concert and seeing a show and might be getting back to the hotel when it is dark (late) out. Now it has been pointed out to me that there is a disco/bar (strippers??) on the bottom floor. Now I wonder is that normal in Prague? Will we be safe walking back in at night? We are only staying one night during the week - I was trying to keep the hotel cost under $100 and I booked this room for $65. Any advice please on the wise choice to make. The noise and smoke doesn't bother me too much - but I don't want drunks pawing or shadowing us as we return at night. Thanks for reading!

We stayed at the Cloister Inn. It was fine for me (40 year old woman) walking around alone at night (family kept falling asleep early!).

We spent a week at Hotel Salvator. I checked Rick's listings, then every recommendation I could find on the graffitti wall and online. It came out consistently high on cost, location, and quality. We were extremely happy. The rate includes a terrific breakfast. http://www.salvator.cz/

We are back from our trip. We ending up sticking with U Zlatecho Stroma (hotel) on Karlova Street. The hotel was right near the Charles Bridge - I loved its location. It was decorated in antiques and repros and beautiful oil paintings.
I asked for an upper floor to be away from the night club downstairs. BIG MISTAKE! Our room was four STEEP flights up LOL! There was no noise at all and since it was midweek we saw no problems when we returned from dinner around midnight. My take on this hotel is that it is a nice, small, clean and cozy room. Not the best I am sure - or classiest - but more like a B&B. The free breakfast was superb!! There was no crowds and lots of fresh fruit and breads, pastries, yogurt, coffee, tea, meats, cheeses etc. It was well worth the $65.
