Sacramento Travel Meeting - Saturday April 19th @ 10:00 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location-
Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd. Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there?

I'm up to my eyeballs getting my house ready to sell and trying to stay calm (and remembering to breathe)... So many workmen in and out of here it feels like a 7-11.... so I'll miss seeing you all. Sorry to miss it because I know it will be fun! I hope to come up in May... if I'm still sane... : )

Are you trying confuse Eileen by putting up info about May before April? How's the Ditch Eileen campaign going?

Did I miss an announcement for April meeting? Is April 19 still on?? Hope to make it soon to ask about Christmas markets and talk about prior trips.

Oh crap! I'm just too distracted! I've edited the title to reflect April, not May. Sheesh! Thanks for being more on top of things than I apparently am!

Yes, we are meeting on Saturday, April 19th.

Karen, we don't try to ditch Eileen. Too often. If we wanted her to spend the entire meeting with us we would tell her it starts at 8:30. She might show up by 10:00 then. Maybe... ;-)

The Moscow contingent would like a copy of the meeting minutes regarding the discussion of Christmas Markets. Or re-discuss it again in June when Darcy is there! (It's for me not her, but she will take exceptional notes being the organized person she is.)

Hmmm...meeting minutes...you've clearly never been to one of our meetings! Maybe Eileen can be in charge of taking those notes for you.

Minutes? somebody's taking minutes? Sure Pam, I'll take minutes for you but you'll have to interpret my shorthand!
So who all will be at the Sacramento meeting in June?

(Whining) Only 2:00? I thought you stayed till 4:00 then started having wine and hors d'oeuvres. I may have to reconsider the June meeting!

Monte will not be there, but I may, still not 100%. I will have to transport my DD at some point since she has a stress fracture in her foot and is currently in a wheelchair.

Please pray for it to heal so we won't be pushing a chair in Paris!! Thanks!

@S&M - Sorry to hear about Paige. I hope she's doing okay.

It looks like a small group this month. I had word from Eileen that she can't make it. Kitty is in Europe and returns on Friday. She will try to make it.

So sorry Susan... I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Yes, I think you are correct David….Monte will take her to London for the day……NOT! I think the idea of French food will be enough to get her healed! But…thanks for the idea anyway :-)

"How's the Ditch Eileen campaign going?"

Karen, they've ditched me! Ditched me good...in Texas!

I'm sitting in my father-in-law's hospital room, where he has been making a fantastic recovery from a very nasty bug. Fingers crossed...but he should be as good as new, just not very soon :-( So we're going to stay until he is up and somewhat ambulatory. Hope to be back for the May meeting...

I'm glad Paige 'only' has a stress fracture. I hope it is fast-healing!

I agree - meeting ends by 2:00 ;-)

It looks like a small turnout this month. David, I might be there by myself. In that case, I'm definitely not staying until 2:00. I think a trip to IKEA will be in order after an abbreviated meeting!!

I am planning on driving up from Sonoma tomorrow in hopes of receiving some help to fine tune my itinerary for travel in June. I'm new to the forum so I'm not quite sure what your group is about. Is it ok for me to come seeking help? It would be great to receive suggestions and tips from more experienced travellers. I promise not to keep you past 2!

Of course Melinda. We are happy to help. I think we will have a small turnout tomorrow, but there should be a few of us. Where are you going? I might have some books or maps that would be helpful to being.

Jet lag brain is arriving from The Netherlands & Belgium for the meeting. Hope I don't forget to bring the Belgian chocolates. Eileen & David won't be here? More chocolates for us! (Now I know why everyone rides a bike in Amsterdam...)

Melinda, I hope you made it to Sacto and got some useful info!

Nooooo!!! Chocolates??? I can get coffee and juice at the hospital :-(

Lots and lots of coffee...

Hope Ikea was fun ;-)

I think I'll make the next meeting; my patient is doing fantastically well!

Melinda did make it. She will have to be the judge of whether the information she received was useful!

Alas no IKEA for me today. I decided to go home and take a nap since I was up half the night. I have a party to attend tonight and then I have to pick my niece and her new hubby up at the airport at 1:30 a.m., when they return from their honeymoon. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I agreed to do that!!

Hurry home...
