It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!! As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Location- Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd.
Sacramento This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit. Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome. So my question is...who plans to be there?

Andrea, Where are all the Sacramento Travelers? Seems like they're sleeping on the job of keeping this at the top!

I'll be there as well. Walker may also join us. I've been assisting him by PM and he might attend.

Well, David, we tried! Now I'm worried - I have to miss the Oct meeting (gulp) 8^O I hope Walker makes it; Larry, you DID tell him the initiation rites don't hurt all that badly, didn't you? ;-) Oh - I'll be there! I hope all of 'The Newbies' from last month can make it again; they have some great trips planned, and I enjoyed their company!

We will be there! I have lot of things borrowed that I need to return to my dear friends, and a trip report to give, too!

Yep, I'll be there. Unfortunately Rick (yes, THE RICK) can't come like he did last month. That'll teach you, Andrea, for missing last month. (This knife twist was brought to by David for Andrea.)

Okay okay...lighten up everyone!! Geez, you miss one meeting and all hell breaks loose!!! If it matters to anyone, we scheduled our trip next month so that we will leave AFTER the meeting. And the meeting will be on our anniversary. Because of our efforts to be able to attend, we will expect anniversary gifts. Good ones... :-)

Congrats on your anniversary next month, Andrea! I've been searching amazon for a time turner so I can be at the Moscow/Lewiston meeting and the Sacramento meeting.

Of course not Stay-ce. We would love to hear how it went. For those that have traveled to DC and the surrounding states, I would like to pick your brains about the week we have after our week in DC.

Our anniversary is one week from this Saturday; I propose giving ME gifts - good gifts - so Andrea can see what she can expect ;-) FWIW, this year will be our 'amethyst' anniversary...and I yuvs me some amethyst...just sayin'.

Like I said, we will be there, but just to make sure everyone knows, it is our anniversary THIS weekend. We plan to spend it with all our travel friends! But if you'd like to celebrate with us, or just want to bring a little something for us, we don't mind at all. Our year, 27th, has a theme of a statue, so I'm told. You can bring one for us, but we will also accept a trip to the Borghese Gallery.

My goodness there are a lot of anniversaries around!! Congratulations all. Mine is this Sunday. Eileen, got ya beat by one year!! Ours is Opal. Anybody got a German car or nice stone heading this way?

Many anniversaries indeed. And everyone married for many years. Does this mean the couple that travels together stays together? Alas I have discovered that the 28th anniversary is not associated with any particular gift. I guess cash works for any occasion and it always fits. I'll take greenbacks or euros. I'm not picky. ;-) I have another challenge for you Sacramento peeps. Next month, not only is our meeting ON our anniversary, but that afternoon we will be attending a wedding in Clarksburg. We will have to attend the meeting in our wedding finery. If we have to dress up, I think everyone should. I am confident we can all clean up well. I'm giving you plenty of notice.

Andrea, the modern gift for the 28th says orchid...I'll get Jim a wrist corsage. Susan and Monte - I've made reservations for the Borghese for you; just show up and claim them 8^D If anyone wants to bring their opal gifts for Nigel and his bride, I'd be more than happy to make sure he receives them...Opals and amethysts look really nice together...;-) OK Andrea, I'll dress up for Sept., but No Pantyhose.

Tony and I really enjoyed our first visit! He has to work but I will be there with my "wish list." Look forward to meeting those of you that I didn't meet last month. Vivian

I'm looking forward to meeting you Vivian. I hope Walker will also be attending. I know we sound kind of crazy with our goofy bantering, but were are fairly sane(ish). ;-)

We had a great meeting this month with a huge turn out. It was great to meet Vivian and hear about her plans for Italy, and Walker & Rebecca with their plans for France. Mona & David of Santa Barbara attended on their way home from Lake Tahoe. Thanks to you for all the information about home exchanges. I book marked the websites you recommended. There were a few people there with trip reports from their recent adventures. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next month!!

I agree with Andrea. We had about 15 people. What a hoot. The meeting went on for 3 hours. Our visitors stayed the whole time visiting with the different members about their trip planning. Hopefully, more visitors will be encouraged to drop by and discuss their travel plans. We have our computers, we can call up the train and plane websites, we bring our books and maps and best of all, we have a really good time discussing one of our favorite topics - Traveling. We're not tourists - we're travelers.

David, I left at 1:00pm and everybody was standing. I thought the meeting was breaking up. So was it a stand-up meeting for the next 2 hours? Great stuff.

...and then the impromptu sleepover at David's...such fun!!! David made the best waffles, Monte made yummy espresso drinks, we watched RS travel videos... Sometimes we just don't don't know when to quit. It's a very good thing that we find each other sooo fun to be with :-)
