Sacramento Meeting - Saturday June 16th @ 10:00 a.m.

It is time to announce our June travel get together. As usual we will be meeting on the third Saturday of the month at the Panera Bread located at 3571 North Freeway Blvd., Sacramento. This is in North Natomas, off I-80 at the Truxel exit. We meet at 10:00 a.m. Late comers will be fined. I only accept cash or food. Just kidding!! I accept booze too! ;-) This meeting is open to anyone who would like to come. If you are a new traveler and are planning or even just thinking about a trip we are there to help. Experienced travelers who would like to share their expertise and stories are welcome too. We just love everything about Europe and enjoy talking about it. If anyone has any questions please let me know. So my question is...who plans to come?

Don't even think about it - if I can't get there early, I'll just keep a-drivin'...

How fun that you do this! Since you all love to travel, I think you should head north and hold your July meeting in my neck o' the woods. You can gather across the border in Canada and count is as a foreign expedition. ;-D Enjoy!

Sorry, Colleen - you are second in line. I have first dibs for their meeting at Charleston or Myrtle Beach. (AND, I bribed them with Limoncello, and offered accomodations for the TAMU-USC football games when they play here..................and I'm STILL waiting....) ;-)

@ Colleen, We have been meeting monthly for two years now. The first 'Helpline' group to do this was Denver. I thought it sounded like fun, so we started a group here. Atlanta and Idaho also have meetings. I think there was one meeting in NYC and maybe a couple in Seattle. We have a great time talking about travel. You can come to our meetings anytime. You too Elaine!!!

Colleen, come on over to the Moscow ID/Pullman WA area! Our announcement is not up yet but we will meet next Sat. (a week from tomorrow). We chat, drink coffee and Monte gives some kind of demonstration. Fortunately Darcy and I were able to stop him from demonstrating ~something~ he says he purchased at Magellans. Its a fun group!

Attention! Attention! To all Kansas City Area Helpliners. Ditto to all the comments given in this thread. I thought that these meetings sounded like fun. So much so I drove to Denver for the April meeting. So I am offically trained (By Lee and the entire Denver crew) as a 3rd Saturday of the month RS local meeting organizer. I would like to try and start one of these groups in the Kansas City area. And for those of us in this area know that the only place we can/should have such a meeting is at Panera Bread on the County Club Plaza. (As the decore on The Plaza is that of Sievilla Spain.) So lets try to get together on Saturday June 16th, 10 AM at Panera Bread on the County Club Plaza.
All travelers welcome. Look for the Rick Steves books on the table and come sit down. I will also post this again with a Kansas City headline in the subject line. But everyone here posted all of the good reasons explaining why these meetings are held and that a good time is had by all. Private message me if you are interested in attending and would like more details. My hometown may show Hiawatha, KS but have just moved to Liberty, MO. Robert

Robert,
As you probably noticed, those of us in Northern Idaho don't get to meet at Panera Bread but instead meet at One World Cafe. I believe the nonexistent bylaws state that we're allowed to because we don't have a Panera Bread within 100 miles--or 160 kilometers. Isn't that correct?

So who all will be at the Sacramento meeting?

Honey, I always 'bring it'. Ohhhhh; sorry - I don't have those guidebooks...

I am thinking about options for a trip next year and am considering spending some time in England. Specifically (maybe) London and the Cotswolds. If anyone has an England guidebook I could look through, please bring it.

Andrea, I'll bring my England book. I have pictures also. We toured Bath, Cotswold, the Lake District, York, Cambridge & Oxford, Canterbury and London. Our trip included major churches, gardens and castles. I have a complete spreadsheet that I'll bring for you. It shows what we did, where we stayed and what we paid. Be sure to take your burka for London.

Thanks Larry. I have a 2006 London book, but that's it.

If you don't come, we talk about you...;-) No, seriously.

Well, we are not yet sure if we will be there or not. We have been asked to volunteer for an event at Cal Expo, and I'm not sure if we will, or what time we would need to be there. If we can fit it in before we work...we'll be there! We have a Great Britan book we can bring.

Susan and Monte, I know of what you speak. You two are excused. We will talk about you only a teeny-weeny bit.

I have a Great Britain book as well that I'm bringing in case Susan and Monte can't make it. But, I'd rather visit with Susan and Monte.

I agree with Larry. Susan & Monte, I hope you can make it. And Eileen, if you want to know who we will talk about, we can just talk about you! ;-) I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. For anyone who might be joining us for the first time, we are usually at the big table in the middle of the room. Look for the blue RS books...
