I was thinking it might be fun to do something a little different in December. Think about it and bring your ideas on Saturday.

Let's go to the German Christmas markets!!! I've always wanted to... Andrea, actually I can't think straight right now; I'm too worried about what might happen if you don't bring Larry's camera to him (biting fingernails).

Andrea and Eileen, you could go to the Christkindlmarkt on December 3 & 4 at the Turn Verein, 3349 J Street, Sacramento. It is just a little market but it's a bit of Germany to help get over missing Europe or make you miss it more! I don't remember the usual hours but I can find out for you if you're interested. Too bad the Sacramento Area Group can't drive up to Edmonds for Rick's Travel Festival that's where I'll be!

Darcy, come pick us up and we will go with you! I think the markets are a great idea. Who's with me? Okay, maybe the one Darcy mentions will make more sense. More information would be great. Oh, and Darcy, I hope you had a nice trip!!

Andrea, in the past the Christkindlmarkt has been Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 11-5 but I can't find the hours anywhere on the Turnverein site. I can verify the hours next week and will let you know for sure. Our trip was fantastico! Hope yours was too? How was your trip Eileen? Did your eurobuzz phone work okay? Mine worked perfectly but Doug's didn't...maybe because it wasn't turned on?!!! Sort of wish I could be at the Sacrament meeting but the Rick Steves Travel Festival has a higher priority!
I know you'll have fun re-living your trips though. Enjoy!

Darcy, the Eurobuzz phones worked extremely well! Thanks so much for the suggestion! As much as I've researched European/world phones and SIMs, I can't believe I never ran across Eurobuzz - especially since it's a part of Mobal. (Eurobuzz focuses only on Europe) After our flight from Rome was cancelled, one of them got a great 45-minute work-out calling the States to get our flight rebooked, and we both had to call the States later that night for various reasons (cancel hotels, etc). Just got charged on our Visa card; it's nice to not have to worry about topping up, etc. The sound was great whether sitting acoss from each other on the train or speaking to someone in Texas. (I actually ordered one phone+SIM plus one SIM; they sent me two phones+SIMs...we kinda just kept the other phone. The price difference was $20, and shipping it back to England didn't seem particularly logical...plus my 'good' phone could stay safe at home. Don't tell.)
