Sacramento Helpline Meeting for Oct 15

I'm posting this from my Rome apartment; who says I don't go all-out in my Helpline research?!? Anyway, it's time for another get-together! Here are the particulars: We will meet at the Panera Bread located at 3571 N. Freeway Dr., Sacramento. This is off I-80 at the Truxel exit. Our meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend.

And I am posting this from the South of France, so there! I fly home from Paris on the 14th, arriving home that night. I do plan to be there for the meeting. I want to hear all about your trip and Larry's too. The meeting will be at 10:00 a.m.

Has anyone else noticed how quiet and peaceful the helpline has been since Eileen's been on her trip?

.....that's because Eileen is in lemoncello country (putting a dramatic dent in the market) and she can't figure out her keyboard! See you guys on Saturday! Andrea, bring your molecules with you!
If you fall asleep on the table, we will understand!

I will try not to fall asleep, but I can't make any promises. Besides, I need Larry and Susan to help me put pictures on my blog. Even though they both emailed instructions to me, I STILL couldn't figure it out!! :-)

We arrived home from Paris at 1:00am Tuesday morning. 29 hours from the time we woke up to go to the airport. The two flights took 13 hours. The big problem was the almost 8-hour layover in Chicago. We arrived at 1:15pm and our next flight departed at 8:55pm. Since Andrea may also be on United, she may encounter the same thing. I hope not. I'll be there on Saturday. Our travel blog is http://www.longcovetravels.blogspot.com. We have quite a bit of narrative and lots of pictures on the blog. More to go plus a summary.

We will be there, however, we may be the only ones awake. Sounds like there will be a lot of jet lag going around!

I could get some sleep if you people would stop posting!!! For Karen (in my best Jack Nicholson voice) - "I'm Baaaaack!" Quiet time's over... Kat, we were both sick with colds in Limoncello Country, so we only tasted limoncello...BUT we brought some home! Larry, I told a look at your blog and now that I'm finally not sleep-deprived I'm going to really read it - it's very nice! Andrea is right now somewhere between Paris and Sacramento, I suppose...unless her flight was cancelled, too (grrrrrrr). My replacement flight was an 11-hour fun fair (wedged between my husband and a - thankfully - small Italian guy), then after a delay the hootenanny called the 6-hour flight between Miami and San Francisco (between my husband and a not-so-small guy). Good Times. Not so minor miracle that my husband stayed awake to drive us home... Thanks, Andrea, for the save; I pasted your directions and knew something was missing, but didn't notice what it was (the time). Duh, but I was really wiped out by the time we got to Rome :-( And Nigel, did you delete your post, or was it kidnapped?!? To answer your question, YES, on our very first night, my husband ordered the 'Tex-Mex' at Augustiner biergarten in Salzburg - which turned out to be BBQ ribs (beef). NOT the best I've ever eaten, but...OK. Susan, I think I'll be alert Sat morning ;-) but it was touch-and-go until today. GO TEXAS RANGERS!!!

Yes, I am somewhere between Paris and Sacramento. I'm in Washington DC to be exact. Our flight was delayed and we are stuck here until tomorrow night. Sorry to miss the meeting. I will have to get everyone's trip reports next month. :-(

GO RANGERS!!! Ummm, I mean: Noooo - sorry about the unexpected layover, Andrea :-( From my own experiences on this last trip and from talking to others, cancelled and delayed flights seem to be the norm. Hope your layover is comfy, at least. Always travel with access to some clean clothes :-) I hope your DH can come, but I suppose I could give him a pass this one time ;-) I propose moving the meeting back a week next time there are so many traveling...I'm just getting my act together, Andrea's stuck halfway home, and perhaps Larry is somewhere in the middle LOL! I move that we DO talk about Andrea. GO RANGERS!!!

Hi Eileen Yes, I pulled it - I didn't want to hijack. Welcome back. It sounds like travel is not as easy as it used to be. Your cats have been quieter than usual while you've been gone...

All that jet lag at one meeting?
I'll bring the pillows.........or Ambien, whatever the need is!

Nigel, hijacking is fine with me - I'll just need to see your 3-1-1 bag first...(yes, that's called 'gallows humor'). I'm posting on this thread because I wanted Karen to know that it'll stay quiet on the Helpline for a while longer - guess who has jury duty?!? Probably for 3-4 weeks...And yes, Nigel, the cats probably won't be posting much, either >..<

Oh, ummm, and GO RANGERS!!! That's Wed/Thurs/Sat/Sun at 5:00pm Pacific, 8:00pm Eastern, and about 12:00-1:00am in Birmingham...;-)

now, now, Eileen, keep your (open) mind on your case(s). Don't allow the 107th running distract you. A London newspaper ran a whole page in the sports section today about how the Rangers are back in it again, and suggesting that the MVP is already known, not that they completely said he would do it all by himself.

Just to let the folks know who read the Sacramento postings, Eileen did show up at our monthly travel meeting last Saturday wearing her official Texas Rangers baseball jersey. She's ready for the series.

Yeah, Baby!!! ...and the ( tasteful pewter bat-and-glove earrings). I save the Full (not-so-tasteful) Regalia for the house and the stadium ;-)

Too bad you didn't consult with me before you reported for jury duty. No one will ever pick you for a jury if you announce to the court that as far as you are concerned, if a person is arrested they must be guilty. Case closed! I think you should wear your Rangers jersey to court every day.

I'm bringin' the bobbleheads. They'll look nice on the little half-wall in front of me. Would my little Rangers flag be too much? I thought I could hang it over the edge. Do you think the bobbleheads will need to be sworn in? Andrea - it's a civil case, but once one person figured out how to get dismissed, all of a sudden lots of people felt The Very Same Way ;-) UPDATE: OK - Rangers in 5...I forgot my Rangers earrings and was too tired to climb the stairs and get them. And we lost. (smacking forehead) Stupid, stupid Eileen.

Yes, the Rangers loss is ALL YOUR FAULT! Next time, don't forget the earrings.

(sobbing uncontrollably) This still is travel-related, right?!? If I were to travel to the games...;-)
