Sacramento Group Meeting - Saturday 2/16 @ 10:00 a.m.

The February meeting of the Sacramento Area Helpline Travel Enthusiasts will be held on 2/16 @ 10:00 a.m. Location- Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd. Sacramento Take I-80 and use the Truxel exit. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing about everyone's travel plans. This meeting is open to everyone who loves to travel or who wants to learn more about traveling. We are usually at the large table in the middle of the room. Look for the blue and yellow books.
So my question is.... Who plans to be there?

Andrea, I can't make this one. Mary and I will be spending a long valentine's day in the Napa Valley. See you next month.

Sorry you won't be there Larry. I was going to bring you some lemons and oranges. :-) Have fun in Napa!

We will be there! Looking forward to getting some help on London from lots of you, but especially from our expert David! We'll miss you Larry. I'm sure it was a difficult choice to choose Mary and Napa over us.

Oops! I was just going to say I'd be there, but I will be atop Mt. Hood, swilling hot mulled wine.

So if I understand correctly, this month's meeting will be hosted by Larry and Mary in Napa?!? Yippee!!! Thanks, Guys ;-) Kat, I never got your phone message telling me what time you were picking me up (scratching head)... Try to have a good time without me ;-) (I'm glad you finally got up there!!!) David, have you run out of picture books for me to drool over? Andrea, if you're drowning in citrus, I'll always take some 8^D; you're welcome ;-) And I was going to remind you to bring some for Larry... I'm looking forward to talking about other people's trips LOL (sigh).

Eileen, come on by. We're booked for dinner at Press in St. Helena on Valentine's day. We can do wine tasting on Friday. By the way Andrea and Eileen, I just received confirmation this morning that Mary and her daughter (mother/daughter trip) are booked for 3 days in Agriturismo Marciano. I also have them booked at Tourist House Ghiberti in Florence and we're waiting for confirmation for the Hotel Berti in Assisi.

@Larry - I hope they enjoy Marciano as much as Jim and I did. Do you know what room they will be in? With 3 nights they should be able to enjoy at least one of the optional dinners. My mouth waters just thinking about the food there. Kat and Larry, I hope you enjoy your trips. We were supposed to go to the coast for Valentines Day and the long weekend. As you guys know, I've been pretty housebound for the last year and I was looking forward to getting away. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to a death in the family. On the plus side, this means I will be able to be at the meeting. Who else is coming?

Ahhhh, Marciano...(sighs deeply). Officially jealous. OK - who's riding with me to go crash Larry and Mary's getaway? My car holds 4 people... I've recently accumulated some atrocious vet bills, so I'll be bringing a tip jar (empty 1-gallon pickle jar). Please be generous; don't forget to stop by the ATM on your way to Panera :-P. Stinker thanks you, too >^..^<

Andrea, they will be in the Camera Grande room. We had a shot at the suite but chose not to accept that one.

That would be fabulous David, - Oyster cards and maps to help me plan! I'll try to get feedback from my dad to see what he wants to visit in London before we meet. I just so happen to have the Rick Steve's current season of shows, thanks to our own sweet cat lover, Eileen! I have watched the London ( and all the others!) but it will be fun to share them with my dad, too. We are going on the Princess Cruise out of Southampton, 12 nights, British Isles.

Susan, I can make copies of my tube and bus maps and get them to you. They were our main source of getting around when we were in London. We had the 7-day Oyster cards. We found ourselves on either the bus or tube multiple times each day. We were across the Thames in a Hilton and had to take the tube each day to and from the hotel area.

Thanks Larry, that would be great! I can get them from you next month. My trip isn't until July, so I still have plenty of time. Have a fun valentine weekend!

Larry, the Marciano suite was sweet!!! Tell them to peek into the room at the very end of the hallway (as usual, they're all open while being cleaned)... David, I drool easily. Wait - that sounds weird. Better - I think - than 'I'm easy', tho...I just want to make you feel better about lugging those heavy museum books back from Europe :-) Susan and Monte - don't you have U-Verse? If so, remind me to tell you about the 'PBS 2' channel... Don't forget your veterinarian/Visa card donations >^..^< Large bills ($20s/$50s/$100s) are better than a bunch of small bills...Will accept $, €, £, ¥,...

Oh, no, David - I can work with that ;-) Loose change under the car floor mats? Bring it LOL! I'm looking forward to a few hours of no spoon-feeding kitties and no IV bags and needles...(but my nearly 20-year-old Stinker is doing really well! Yea!). Talking Europe is the best escape!!! Going to Europe would be the bestest escape (sigh).

I see there's discussion about London. Out of the blue, I find myself booked for a two-week tour of Great Britain in May. I'll be especially intersted in all of your London tips, etc. See you Saturday.

Ok, everyone be ready for a full 8 hours for next month meeting! I need a replay of everything discussed London, plus all my questions, too. I think the Paris discussion starts at around 6pm. We might as well have drinks and dinner over Paris.

David...wow! If I knew that all it took was for me to say I was going to Paris and that YOU were paying, I would have totally done that! Just think what a good tour guide I could be for you when you have time on your own in Paris!!!

Whoa...No, no, no!!! David, I told you - in front of witnesses - that I'd be your tour guide for Paris, and that I'd even carry your luggage for you!!! Andrea tried to get a trip to Paris out of you as your tour guide, and I said I'd carry luggage for both of you. Uh-uh. Noooooooo. You tell that chick there's already two ahead of her ;-)
