Sacramento Group Meeting - March 17th

Hello all! The 3rd Saturday of the month is approaching, and we know what that means...meeting time! We will meet on Saturday, 3/17 at 10:00 a.m. at our regular place - Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd., Sacramento It is located off I-80 at the Truxel Blvd. exit. Everyone is welcome. If you are planning a trip and would like some help or advice, let us know where you're going. So my question is... Who is coming?

Well now, Eileen, We are trying to make a little effort to take a driving trip to Fredericksburg to raise steins with the fellow offspring of our common ancestors. Maybe next year.

I am going to try and make this tomorrow! Thanks!

Whoa, Ryan - not tomorrow, but NEXT week!!! That wouldn't be the first time that happened, though...and that's why we -with very few exceptions - always have our gatherings at the same place and the same time. Monte - steins always trump Panera. Always. Go forth in peace ;-)

How will I know which table to join? Is there a way to gracefully get away from the Book Club that's reading "Catching Fire" if I join them by mistake? Will everyone be wearing green?

Just look for the table with Eileen's cats. That's if she turns up...

I'm sorry Nigel, Panera does not allow cats. That's why Eileen leaves them in the car. You should hear the racket in the parking lot! Darcy, you will of course recognize me as the good looking one with the air of a world traveler about her. Or maybe you would recognize me because we have met! ;-). For any newcomers, you will find us at the large table in the middle, scattered with RS books, etc.

Eileen, you need to swap out that limoncello for a Guinness this time & slip a little to the cats to save your car upholstery. Wish you could join us, Nigel. I'll be there, but will only be able to stay for the aperitif.

Oh...we could so have a St Paddy's tailgate (wink-wink)! Guinness is Good for You, and It Gives You Strength!!! (gettin' thirsty...) Green limoncello! Or, not... OK - the trip to Tejas isn't until the following Tuesday, so I'm in. Darcy, we'll be the table of leprechauns. The cats sleep fine in the car, if the sun is on them ^..^ Of course, the tuna odor is rather overwheming in the hot car...So no need to waste beer on them!

I have just purchased a new bottle of limoncello so I'll be there in spirits with y'all. PS: I suppose I'm going to HAVE to drink for both Eileen and Andrea, yet again??? (BIG SIGH)

@Darcy and Monte. I will speak for the Troy group and say we would be interested! We could call it the N. Central Idaho-Eastern Washington Valley/Palouse/Prairie group, lol!

Oh! Sacramento Group you are just TOO much fun! I think it's time for the Group to start a weekly meeting.
I won't be able to make this month's meeting....We have to pour wine at the WineFest....and enjoy tasting it too! It keeps us in practice for our trips to Europe.

Darcy, We aren't Ricksters but your proposal sounds interesting. There are some folks that live in Troy who might be intersted. [email protected]

My husband and I would like to join the group this Saturday at 10:00. We have a 2 month trip coming up in April that includes a month in Florence. We've never done this and would love to hear of your experiences. I've enjoyed a lot of good information from the RS forum. Thanks.

@ Elaine - I can't tell you how much I appreciate you sacrificing for the team. You will be in my thoughts on Saturday. In honor of St.Patricks Day I think you should add a little green food coloring to the limoncello.

@Andrea and Eileen - It will be a horrible sacrifice, but that's what I do for my friends.

A note to Barbara and other newbies. This is a free group. Do not let Eileen exhort "dues" from you. And do not believe her when she says she just needs to buy a little treat for the kitties. The cats do not eat Pecan Braid Pastries.

Now Dang It, Karen! The Kitties are gonna go hungry...and my rounded figure will suffer ;-) It takes a lot of effort to look like this... Sorry, Elaine - just do the best you can. It's appreciated. Ryan, Barbara, & Barbara's Husband (!) - I'm looking forward to meeting all of you (and trying to worm my way into a month in Florence!). I'm looking forward to seeing you, too, Margaret! Darcy, last month was chocolate, and this month it's wine?!? Heck, I'm joining y'all's group!!!

Barbara - you probably would get better information if you came to the Denver group meeting. This group is unrecognized since they have not paid their franchise fee.

Yes, Eileen, last month was chocolate and this month it's wine! Actually for tonight we'll also have some chocolate tidbits on the "reds tables"! (Not kitty tidbits, chocolate people tidbits!)
We are definitely a busy community up here in the woods--much busier than when we lived in Sacramento!

Ok everyone, I actually have a "serious" request for tomorrows meeting.
Does anyone have a RS Florence -Tuscany guide book they could bring? I am considering buying this one as well. All the posters are convincing me to rent a car for this part of the trip and I am wondering what the book has that the Italy one does not. Shelley

Uh-oh - the Denver group's gone rogue ;-) Shelley, I just have the "Italy" book; sorry. Andrea? Susan and Monte? (see - I can 'do' serious, too!)

I have the 2010 Florence/Tuscany guidebook. I will bring it!
