Sacramento Area Meeting - Saturday, May 21st

It's that time again...the 3rd Saturday of the month is coming up. We will meet at the usual place - the Panera Bread located at 3571 N Freeway Blvd, Sacramento. If you are not familiar, this is in North Natomas just off I-80 at the Truxel Rd. exit. The meeting is at 10:00 a.m. For those of you who don't know, a group of us that contribute to and use the helpline meet once a month to talk about travel. We welcome everyone to join us. So my question is ----- who will be there this month?

Me! But then again, you knew that...;-) We should have some new people dropping by... Does anybody have any particular questions or concerns this month? If so, please post them; that way, the rest of us can bring pertinent copies of guidebooks/Munich metro maps/moneybelts/backpacks/copies of train schedules - whatever! - to help you.

Blindingly beautiful - get your sunglasses ready ;-) (and have a few liters first - speaking of myself only; the others are truly beautiful, except for the very handsome men...)

I would like to come (we leave for Europe on May 23rd!). What time do you meet?

Duh...I can't believe I forgot that very important bit of information! We meet at 10:00 a.m. I'll edit the original post. Thanks for pointing that out Lindsey. We are happy you are joining us. Where are you going on your trip?

For her inexcusable oversight, Andrea has been banished to a two-week non-stop European night train where she'll get NO sleep and therefore have lots of time to think about what she did. She'll be required to wear a NASCAR cap, an oversized "CHOOSE LIFE" t-shirt (love you, Wham!), and wander up and down the train aisles carrying two oversized AND too heavy duffle bags full of unnecessary haircare appliances and 7 pairs of 'cute' sandals. She regrets she'll have to miss this meeting...;-)

Geez Eileen, you are being a little harsh aren't you?? One week on the train maybe...but two? Susan & Monte...I am so excited for you. Let me know if you can use a good map for driving in Germany. I know you will have the GPS, but having a map is good too. If there is anything else, let me know. Monte...I have a special treat for you. I think Eileen is being mean to me because she knows you are getting a bottle of limoncello and she's not. Keep it up Eileen and you will never get one! :P

OK, Andrea - you were pretty prompt at adding the info; you're on probation...Lindsey, we're usually much more professional than this ;-)

Wow, Susan! You are finally on your way! With all the research you've done for this trip, you've earned a Ph.d in Across the Pond Peripatetics ! We'll give you a green-w/-envy Bon Voyage on Saturday!

You guys sound like fun :-) We're going to Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Neushwanstein (sp?), Glarus (Switzerland), Paris, Bayeux, Mont St Michel, and London.

Yippy! Don't forget Andrea, that limoncello is just for me, Monte is sober, but I won't be when I get that limoncello home! It will be my stress reliever as we gear up for our departure! And yes, please bring the map too, we can use it. We'll also bring our "trade" for you. Lindsey your trip looks fabulous! Can't wait to hear more about it.
See you all then!

Yes Susan, it is all for you! It's just that Monte seemed so excited about it. He's funny!! :-)

I'll bring a can of albacore...isn't it the thought that counts? 'Cause I'm thinkin' about limoncello... Lindsey, we certainly aren't too quiet, and we're very polite...if that counts for anything ;-)

Albacore? Are you talking canned tuna? You will have to do MUCH better than that.

Surely not albacore? Surely you mean fresh caught Abalone?

Does anyone have info on a Danube cruise that goes to Prague, Budapest & Vienna?

Posted by

Nope, albacore - in a 6oz can. I think I'm competing against freshly-caught abalone :-( BUT IT'S THE BEST I CAN DO!!! Just leave me alone (sniffle). Kat, I just read this article; maybe it's a place to start? I still want to take a Burt Wolf PBS cruise with Avalon...but only if someone else is paying for it...I can't bring myself to pay for it when I could cover so much more ground (literally and figuratively) on my own.

Keep your tuna Eileen. The ABALONE is mine, all mine...mwahhh. Well, I might share just a bite with the hubby.

Aaaaaaaaaack! I'm missing you all again! Zut alors! And I'll miss you in June because I'll only be in Sacto 21-23 June. Anyone available on the 22 or 23 June just for coffee?

Elaine, come on over. I have plenty to share...with you. Eileen has been too mean to me lately. She will have to work hard for some limoncello. Darcy, I'd love to meet you for lunch, coffee or something. PM me with your schedule and we can work something out.

Ditto, Darcy! I drink coffee...;-) That sounds like great fun! Let me know your plans (Andrea probably won't let me come with the two of you - sniffle). I'd rather be meeting you in Venezia, though...:-(...Maybe next time...

Darcy, maybe Eileen and I can meet you for coffee TOGETHER!

Posted by

...but only if I don't have to sit next to Andrea - any other takers in the Sacto area?!? ;-) I'll try to remember to mention this at the June meeting on the 18th, too!

Lucky for you Eileen, I won't be at the June meeting. My daughter is getting married that weekend. I told her she could get married any weekend but the 3rd weekend of the month. But why should she start listening now... ;-)

I am so looking forward to meeting some of the Sacramento Group! Venezia or Roma would have been fun, Eileen...so close and yet so far but maybe we can make meeting in Sacramento an annual thing? Looking forward to hearing from you.
