Your experience/ advice?
We've done 6 RS tours (loved Turkey, Spain, Scandinavia, Italy) but not Central Europe or Adriatic. Which would you recommend?
We like a mix of city/ art/ culture/ history and we love natural, outdoor, active.
We like to do a city on our own for 3 days before a tour to get through jet lag and will likely do Vienna.

I have only done one of these two, The Best of the Adriatic, but I can highly recommend it and feel it matches well with the interests you mention in your post.
The Best of Central Europe has a lot of bus travel but was an excellent way to see this large area. Train and bus travel is not very good. Highly recommend the tour. Our guide was fantastic. George Farcus from Budapest full of knowledge and humor. The Adriatic is a much smaller area to visit. We saw this area with independent travel.
I will add my endorsement for the Adriatic tour. I love Vienna, but Ljubljana is also worth at least one additional day before the tour. We took the tour in October 2023. It felt like the perfect time to travel there except for Korčula, our vacation from our vacation. By mid-October restaurants and activities were starting to shut down for the season. We did manage to rent a boat for a day to tour the harbor and that was lots of fun, but I think we did it on the last possible day of the season.
I've only done Adriatic, but can recommend it!
There was a couple on our tour that did both tours, back to back, even had the same guide for both.
I have not done Central Europe but did Adriatic in late May 2026. I rank it as tied for first of the 9 RS tours i’ve done. One thing that sets it apart is that the Adriatic tour guides (here I mean guides for full tour, not local guides) are all from Slovenia, Croatia, or Bosnia…they aren’t US or British expats. The RS Adriatic tour guides are a close knit group who get together in the off season for fun and to think of ways to make the tour even better. Towards the end of my tour, I made a favorable comment re this to my tour guide, and she laughed and said some of the RS guides for other tours are jealous of the tight knit Adriatic guides and how successful the Adriatic tours are.

Another person who enjoyed the Adriatic tour. I arrived a day ahead in Ljubljana and went to a concert on arrival evening, and I did a cave half-day tour the next morning. Visiting the caves was a great experience!
