RS sent me the Christmas DVD for free!

What a nice surprise in my mailbox this morning. RS sent me the DVD of their Christmas special for free, just for taking one of their tours this summer( which was great). I thought this was very nice, especially since they included and sent us a bunch of stuff before our tour, guide books, phrase books, maps, and DVDs!
I just thought it was nice follow up!

How sweet of Rick Steves. It's those little things that tend to set him apart from the rest, don't you think?

Now tell us what's on the Christmas DVD please.

OMG. I have the Christmas DVD too. I love it. It makes you want to spend Christmas in Gimmelwald. If you were to be able to watch it on PBS during pledge week, with Rick as the co-host he'd tell you that some of the children featured had two Christmases because of course they(the film crew) could not be everywhere at once and so the segments were filmed in advance..presents courtesy of ETBD. Bringing home the christmas tree by torch light. Breath taking and what fun.

Hi Eli, I haven't watched it yet, but I have seen a few segments from tv. This will be better, no commercials and all together. Basically as I recall he and his wife and kids spend and film Christmas in serveral Europeon countries , showing you the different ways Christmas is celebrated, the family and cultural traditions in each place,, what they eat, when they celebrate, etc..
Its actaully just a nice Christmasy show to sit down and watch with family.

I got that DVD last year and never got around to watching it. Sounds like it might be a fun thing to watch with the family this Christmas Eve, although it has the downside of making me want to go right back to Europe!!

I also rec'd one last year and thought it was a very nice gesture, especially as I'd seen in during PBS pledge time. It's actually on right now, on my PBS station. According to the guide, it came on at 12:30pm.
