RS Flexilock reset combination code

Hello,

I got Flexilock from RS online store but I really had hard time to set the combination code even I tried to follow the instructions. I cannot open the lock so I cannot use the lock. I do not know what I did wrong.
Is there a way to reset combination code or is it just one time deal? Does anybody know ? I did review previous discussion of flexilock but cannot find the solution. I also checked your tube but cannot find solution for this type lock. Thank you for your help.

How many dials? I think you set a code and locked it. General these lock need to be unlocked prior to resetting. If you could reset while locked, it would mean that anyone could do it.

xp,

When resetting the combination of the lock, did you keep the small silver button on the bottom of the lock depressed? I've always found the process rather straightforward.

There are 1000 possible combinations with a three-number lock. Unless you're willing to try each one of them, I don't know of any way to unlock the Flexlock. You could also take it to a Locksmith, as they may know a way to easily unlock it for a reasonable fee.

Good luck!

The RS flexilock is only $10 in the online store, so it’s probably not worth it to spend more money on unlocking it.

If you want to unlock it, it can probably be done by trying all possible combinations. That is unless the lock is broken or defective. Since it looks like a three dial lock that would be 1,000 possible codes. I’ve done it while watching a ball game. I can do an average of about one per 3 seconds or so on a lock that has positive detents where I don’t have to look down very often. Took about 40 minutes and i got into the 800’s.

Thank you very much for your help.

I was able to reset the code after following the instruction again. I probably did some thing wrong on first try.

I have done the exactly the same things as Rocket suggested. But my mine was a heavy duty lock that my son had forgotten the combo so it was worth savaging. Only a course of several of weeks when I had a few minutes I simply started with 00001 and continued to plug in the codes. Scored somewhere around 40000. With three dials you can probably find the correct combo within an hour or so. Is that worth $10?
