RS Avanti Rolling Tote

Four of us will be traveling to London and Paris at the end of this month. I was planning on carrying a backpack as my carry-on which would hold my computer. Unfortunately, a recent shoulder/neck injury has caused me to rethink this and look into a rolling on-board bag. Have any of you used the RS Avanti Rolling tote and did it fit under the seat easily? We are traveling on American Airlines. Thanks everyone!

Karen is the Avanti the only bag you would take or would you also have a cargo bag? Also does your trip include a lot of trains? Pulling a rolling bag up onto trains and if necessary up onto the overhead shelf can be really difficult due to the weight. (Actually, of course any heavy bag would be difficult to lift onto an overhead shelf!) I just found it easier to carry the weight on my hips rather than having to lift a rolling bag using my shoulders. (My shoulders frequently hurt from over-use and lifting kids!) In spite of my concerns a friend of mine with damaged shoulders used the 21" RS rolling bag, said it was great and much easier to manage than her traveling companions' bags.

No, the Avanti Rolling tote would not be my only bag. My other bag is 22 inch rolling duffle type bag that has traveled to Europe with me about 5 times. Most of our time will be spent in London in a flat with an overnight trip to Paris and another overnight to the English countryside in which my husband and I would share the rolling tote.
