Yes, it was warm enough to wear short sleeve shirts and jeans during the day and a light jacket in the evening.

October is beautiful - great light for photography, great weather (nights at the end of October can be a little cool - light sweater is fine).

I've spent the last three Octobers in Southern Europe - 2009 and 2010 in Rome and 2011 in Sevilla and Barcelona Spain. The weather is absolutely beautiful, the tourist crowds are reduced (they never go away in these areas) and as another poster mentioned the skies seem to be a deeper bluer blue. Last October I put a fleece jacket in the outside pocket of my suitcase when I packed, then I removed it when I arrived home. I never had a need for it the entire three week trip. I am planning to go back to Spain again this October - it seems to always lure me each year!
